Nana Juaben-Boaten Siriboe

Founder

One of the founders of The Morning Star International High School was born on the 11th of October 1957. Nana Juaben Boaten Siriboe started his basic education at the Armed Forces Experimental School in Burma camp and the Ghana International School. After his basic education, Nana had his high school education at the Tema Secondary School and later transferred to Prempeh College and completed in 1974.

He was fortunate in his youth to have journeyed beyond the borders of Ghana from there Nana proceeded abroad to further his education and successfully obtained both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Business Administration at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada from 1976-1980. Nana secured a job after graduation as an instructor and first black lecturer at the Wingate College in North Carolina, USA. There, he taught Strategic Planning, Human Resource Administration, Management Theory and Economics.  Whilst in North Carolina, he pursued post graduate studies in International Business and Development Economics.

Nana travelled all over the world and worked in various positions. He worked with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and rose through the ranks to become Chief, Training Section at the Staff Development Division.

He returned to Ghana to bring his expertise to bear and use his knowledge gained as a tool for success. He combined the roles of the Managing Director of the Morning Star School with that of Special Assistant to the Minister of Finance, Ghana. He monitored the implementation of World Bank projects in Ghana. Nana’s work with the Finance Ministry saw him rise to the position of the Ministry’s Chief Director, a position he held until 2009. His enthusiasm for education encouraged him to establish the Morning Star International High School (MOSHIGH) in 2011 as a continuation of the Basic School, to provide the Cambridge Secondary Education (IGCSE and A LEVEL).  Currently, MOSHIGH has expanded her academic scope of courses to include Cambridge Lower Secondary Year 7 – 9, and the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Programme.

 

Our Programmes

CAIE

As a CAIE accredited and PSGN member, MOSHIGH prepares learners for qualifications in Cambridge Secondary Lower Secondary (11-14 years), IGCSE (14-16 years), A level (16-19 years). In collaboration with CAIE, we provide all-inclusive support in four areas, carefully planned around the needs of Cambridge learners and teachers.

WASSCE

As a GES accredited member, MOSHIGH prepares learners for qualification in West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination(WASSCE). In collaboration with GES, we offer courses in General Science, General Arts, Business Studies and Visual Arts.

Co-Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities form an integral aspect of our holistic education programme. These activities are designed to give learners lifelong experiences. Through co-curricular activities students are able to develop their God given potential and develop skills in leadership, problem solving, teamwork, communication and competencies that will prepare them for a rapidly evolving world. These include, Financial Literacy and Investment, Swimming, Model United Nations, Coding, Students in the media, Bead Making, JB’s Stars Band, Xylophone and Atenteben ensemble
