VISIONARY LEADERSHIP IN SUPPORT OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MOSHIGH

Founder of The Morning Star International High School was born on the 11th of October 1957. Nana Juaben-Boaten started his basic education at the Armed Forces Experimental School in Burma camp and the Ghana International School. After his basic education, Nana had his high school education at the Tema Secondary School and later transferred to Prempeh College and completed in 1974.

He was fortunate in his youth to have journeyed beyond the borders of Ghana from there Nana proceeded abroad to further his education and successfully obtained both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Business Administration at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada from 1976-1980. Nana secured a job after graduation as an instructor and first black lecturer at the Wingate College in North Carolina, USA. There he taught Strategic Planning, Human Resource Administration, Management Theory and Economics.

Nana travelled all over the world and worked in various positions. Among many others, he worked with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and rose through the ranks to become the Chief, Training Section at the Staff Development Division.

He returned to Ghana to bring his expertise to bear and use his knowledge gained as a tool for success. He combined the roles of the Managing Director of the Morning Star School with that of Special Assistant to the Minister of Finance, Ghana. He monitored the implementation of World Bank projects in Ghana. Nana’s work with the Finance Ministry saw him rise to the position of the Ministry’s Chief Director, a position he held until 2009. His enthusiasm for education encouraged him to establish the Morning Star International High School (MOSHIGH) in 2011 as a continuation of the Basic School, to provide the Cambridge Secondary Education (IGCSE and A LEVEL)

Message From The Principal

Welcome, and thanks for visiting our website. Our philosophy on education is embedded in the views of Nikos Kazantzakis, the Greek writer, that “True teachers use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross; then, having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own”. At MOSHIGH, we believe education should be a life transforming experience. Thus, we create scaffolds for learners to climb onto and paint out their aspirations and further express their thoughts in creative forms.

As a Christian school, we offer a rich and diverse learning experiencing which develops holistically, the mind, body and spirit. We consciously make the school a processing unit where potentials are unearthed, skills developed and dreams crystalized.

Our staff and faculty are eager to provide the needed support for a successful international high school experience for our students and their families. Our programmes offer feedback on a learner’s strengths and weaknesses in all curricula areas thus giving Learners and parents a transferable indication of academic progress and achievement leading to the development of lifelong learners.

In Line with the curriculum requirements we seek to tailor individual learning programmes to individual achievement levels, provide prompt and appropriate information to parents on learners’ progress and map out strategies for dealing with potential challenges and manage learning strategies as learners move across achievement levels.

Learners assume control of their flight to success as we empower them to interact with the core academic structures to manipulate the building blocks to success. Take a few minutes to surf our site and connect with us afterwards for a life-changing experience.
